Maisons de Mode stages events and shows throughout
the year that draw thousands of attendees regularly. These include:
Marché des Modes
Created some twenty years ago, the Marché des Modes fashion fair has become a bona fide institution. A must for the fashion-minded, it brings together approximately 100 fashion, accessories and lifestyle product designers and their merchandise from all over France and abroad. It takes place in two landmark spaces in the city of Roubaix, both of which are less than 100 metres from the renowned Musée La Piscine museum. Maisons de Mode doubles up on its commitment to authenticity, creativity and eco-responsibility by featuring designers at this fair that tick those boxes. Coupled with other major events happening around Roubaix, this fair attracts a professional class of customers, as well as other devotees of fashion that’s a cut above. It’s also a chance to view the wide range of Maison de Mode past and present designers, quite a few of whom have gone on to international success.
The Nomad Market is a Marché des Modes hybrid. It’s a fashion fair of a different kind where, as the name implies, one can find 50 to 100 designers and their creations at various spots around town and in other cities. Fashion and lifestyle products are all on offer by up-and-coming French brands amid music, nibbles, exhibitions, and plant sales. The weekend-long event attracts all types, including business professionals who come from throughout the region to shop and have fun.
48H Maisons de Mode
For the last 10 years every September, Maisons de Mode has organised a fashion festival of emerging brands at the Gare Saint Sauveur in Lille. Throughout one long weekend attracting more 15,000 visitors, Maisons de Mode throws a bona fide fashion party open to both industry professionals and the general public. The event kicks off with a Friday night fashion show bringing together all the labels under the Maisons de Mode banner. And every year, the fashion show attracts fashion industry players who take advantage of the occasion to bestow awards on their favourite Maisons de Mode designers. The rest of the weekend features a slew of activities and events: La Braderie des Créateurs, which is giant outlet sale of former collections, end of stock and samples from emerging brands. There are also DJ sets, parties, exhibitions, model scouting and casting, a race in high heels…and more.
Professional Showroom B2B
Conceived on a more human-scale format so that each industry professional can become acquainted with each designer, the Maisons de Mode showroom is notable in the special care taken in displaying each designer’s latest collections. Welcoming buyers as well as industry players, this format was first tested in September 2019 within the framework of the European project United Fashion at a mansion in the centre of Lille.
ReSources Trade Fair
Aware of the challenges facing emerging brands, Maisons de Mode brings together 20 manufacturers and fabric suppliers for small scale meetings with fashion entrepreneurs, brand-name buyers and fashion school students. This new format spotlights sustainable materials and has been applauded by everyone participating as well as visitors and France’s national media.
