The creation of the label l’Envers was inspired by the wish to continue families’ heritage and to link to the textile industry in northern France, and to raise awareness of northern France’s relevance through the current fashion industry. Thus, for Julie Robinne it’s a story of her childhood and of her desire to re-awaken legacies of generations of Spanish craftsworkers, where she has lived some years.
L’Envers, a timeless, durable label that values quality over quantity, offers collections that transcend both trends and seasons.
At the other end of the timetable of fashion weeks and seasons and built-in obsolescence of a garment, beyond fast fashion’s quickly produced, quickly consumed and quickly disposed of ethos, l’Envers has found its raison d’être in offering simple, durable luxury that respects both its craftsmen and the environment.
Working with knitwear workshops located in Spain and Portugal, l’Envers draws on the talents of small family businesses specialised in hand- and machine-knitting.
The raw materials, selected exclusively from fine French threads, are the highest quality and respectful of the environment.
The garments are for the man and woman inspired by the history of artisanal production, by slow fashion, by lovers of beautiful pieces woven and knitted with care, love and patience, and by those who wish to know the hands behind every piece of their garment.
