Maison de modeThe projectWhen fashion brings cities back to life The cities of Lille and Roubaix have joined forces in contributing to the local textile industry through supporting upcoming fashion talent. Both cities have devoted space and services to designers to re-invigorate both commerce and character in two neighbourhoods. With the support of both cities, the Communauté Urbaine, the Conseil Regional Nord Pas de Calais and the European Union, this ambitious project will place 40 designers in renovated studio/boutiques in up-and-coming neighbourhoods by 2010. Since 2006, some 20 designers have become part of the Maisons de Mode adventure.
