An alias that she created back in her school days that has followed the designer until now, the name ‘Minirine’ runs like a thread through Marine Bigo’s life, now having become the name of her label.
A graduate of Belgium’s famed St. Luc Academy, Bigo first found the medium of textiles to make her creativity real. This passion led her to Paris’ theatre school ATEC to train in period costume design…and eventually to pattern-making in Roubaix.
A sojourn in China allowed her to discover another world of creativity and culture other than her own. Colours, patterns, textures, sounds: Shanghai opened doors to her perception. She ended up staying there more than five years. Various professional experiences in pattern-making, styling, and style and trend consulting confirmed to her what she really wanted to do: to create her own label.
From everyday life to working out to partying: her leggings, bodysuits, tracksuits, reversible jackets and trainers move to the rhythm of the streets. From Shanghai to Hong Kong to Tokyo – to London and Berlin and Barcelona and arriving back to its French roots, Minirine is infused with culture, music and art.
Innovative graphics, dazzling colours, and fabrics that celebrate every curve and line of a woman’s form: this is the Minirine experience.
