Maisons de Mode designers return to for a second session

 

Maisons de Mode designers will be on hand at the season’s second session of fashion trade fairs in Paris. Here, you’ll be able to find Maisons de Mode labels that are already available at more than 30 points of sale in France and abroad.

LailaSoares, winner of the 2015 Maisons de Mode Grand Prize, will be at Paris sur Mode 4-7 March. She will be showing her 2016-2017 Autumn-Winter collection at stand 303 of the fair, located in the Jardin des Tuileries.

Last September, Marie Laurence Stevigny won the Première Classe Award during the 48H Maisons de Mode. She will be unveiling the fruit of her collaboration with Agnelle at stand C123 at Première Classe.

Following Tranoï Preview this past January and her stunning debut at Opening Ceremony, Justine Clenquet comes to the Woman trade fair to present her new collection.

Who will follow in the footsteps of Laila Soares, 2015’s grand prizewinner who set up shop at 51 Rue du Faubourg des Postes in Lille ?

In 2016, Maisons de Mode is looking for its Grand Prize design talent from the designers under its umbrella. At stake is € 25,000 to be awarded to the winner targeted for use to expand that designer’s business and fund his/her collections. It’s a fact of fashion that being a designer is more than just creating collections. It’s also about establishing and running a business and a brand. That’s why Maisons de Mode aims to put every tool at their designers’ disposal to increases chances of their success. .

For this year’s edition of the competition, a questionnaire (with selected prompts filled in) will help candidates to better focus their answers and better understand the economic requirements of running a label and surviving in the fashion business.

Application dates:

-> 15 February, 15 March, 15 April and 15 May (It is advised that you not wait until the last date as the selection committee welcomes only a limited number of applicants during each session of the selection process – and you run the risk of not being considered if the final date has too many candidates)

Maisons de Mode at Traffic trade fair 4-5 november 2015

Maisons de Mode graciously invites you this 4-5 November to visit its stand at Traffic, the first trade fair for solutions & services dedicated to fashion businesses and entrepreneurs organised by the French womenswear organisation Fédération Française du Prêt à Porter Féminin. L’Herbe Rouge will be at the stand on 4 November at 11 am.

Ninii seeks intern

Ninii, a new label in the Maisons de Mode incubator, is seeking a motivated, dynamic intern to aid in the growth and running of the label.

If chosen, you’ll be working at the heart of Maisons de Mode, in the following capacities: helping in prospecting customers; organising and taking part in various trade fairs and meetings with customers; handling administration of orders, deliveries and payments; managing the Facebook page and blog; managing web pages (presentation, keywords); assisting with putting products online; and aiding with the preparation of mailings.

Candidates for this internship should have an attention to detail, strong initiative, a varied skill set, highly developed people skills, impeccable written and spoken French, a good level of English, and savvy in the digital, e-commerce and fashion domains.

New at Maisons de Mode

Maisons de Mode continues to prospect for and guide new designers wishing to develop their labels and join our project, where they can participate for up to four years.

WhileAlina Marti et de Kika Mishto have decided to depart Maisons de Mode in Roubaix to build on the momentum they’ve achieved with the project, Maisons de Mode recently scheduled two days to meet new design talents interested in joining. These two days were full of surprises and revelations, resulting in new designers joining the project. This summer will be devoted to settling these newcomers into their boutiques, ateliers and apartments so that they’ll be up and running by autumn.

Watch this space to find out more about the designers who are now part of the Maisons de Mode family, and discover them on the catwalk at the upcoming 48H Maisons de Mode.

This year, Maisons de Mode will offer up another Grand Prize of €25,000 for expanding the business and funding the collections of the most promising designer to join our project. It’s a fact that being a designer is not just about creating collections–it’s also about running your own business. Therefore, it’s necessary to have all elements of a label in order–from the creative side to the commercial and business sides. .

For the 2015 edition, a ready-made questionnaire will help you narrow down your answers and address how you approach important areas such as the financial necessities and the business of fashion.

After the first round of voting, these are the final 10 designers who were presented to the selection committee this past 22 April at Maisons de Mode. Parmi les membres du jury : la Fédération du Prêt à Porter, Who’s Next, la Maison du Design etc …

Among the jury members were: France’s ready-to-wear Fédération du Prêt à Porter, Who’s Next, the Maison du Design, and others…
The selection process was complex, in that the committee took into consideration not only each designer’s style and fashion philosophy, but also his or her drive and ability to identify his/her objectives. You will soon learn the names of those who will be joining our project.

A second round of voting will take place in June in partnership with Meet My Designer. If you want to be part of Maisons de Mode, don’t forget to submit your application by 15 May. You can download the form here !
